Strengthening National Defense: Defense Achievement Factors in the 2025-2045 RPJPN

One of the key factors in achieving the defense sector indicators in the 2025-2045 National Long Term Development Plan (RPJPN) is strengthening national defense.
This strengthening is carried out through various targeted and comprehensive strategic efforts. The following are several important steps that can be taken to create a stronger and more effective national defense.
First, increasing the defense budget. Gradually increasing the defense budget is an important step to meet the optimal strength needs of the Indonesian National Army (TNI).
With an adequate budget, modernization of the TNI’s main weapons system (alutsista) can be carried out to ensure that the TNI has sophisticated equipment and is in line with developments in global military technology. This will increase the TNI’s ability to maintain state sovereignty and security.
Second, strengthening reserve components. Strengthening reserve components is a crucial strategy to increase national defense readiness and responsiveness. Reserve components that are trained and ready to be deployed in emergency situations will strengthen the TNI’s ability to face various threats, both from within and outside the country.
Third, an early detection system. Improving the early detection system is a vital step to strengthen the country’s defense system. With technology capable of detecting threats early, the TNI can respond quickly and precisely, reducing the risk of threats that could endanger national security.
Fourth, the capabilities of the Cyber Defense Agency. Strengthening the capabilities of cyber defense agencies is becoming increasingly important in this digital era. Increasingly complex cyber threats require solid defense strategies and sophisticated cyber security systems. With strong capabilities, countries can protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data from cyber-attacks.
Fifth, strengthening defense posture with the Optimum Essential Force concept. Continuing the program to strengthen defense posture with the concept of optimum essential force is a strategic step to increase effectiveness in maintaining the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). With an optimal defense posture, the TNI can carry out its duties more efficiently and effectively.
Sixth, TNI strength in border areas and outer islands. Increasing TNI strength in border areas and outer islands is an important step to maintain the territorial integrity of the Republic of Indonesia. A strong TNI presence in these areas will be the front guard in facing various threats, including infiltration and territorial violations.
Seventh, synergy between defense and security instruments. Strengthening defense instruments in the context of synergy between defense and security instruments is key in preventing and dealing with acts of terrorism. Good synergy between various institutions and security agencies will increase effectiveness in maintaining national security.
Eighth, increasing professionalism and welfare of soldiers. Increasing the professionalism and welfare of soldiers is an aspect that should not be ignored. Professional and prosperous soldiers will have high enthusiasm and motivation in carrying out defense tasks. This will have a positive impact on the overall performance and effectiveness of the TNI.
Ninth, maintenance and maintenance of strategic defense equipment. Maintenance and care of strategic defense equipment is an important step to ensure that military equipment is always in ready-to-use condition. With good maintenance, the service life of defense equipment can be extended and its performance remains optimal, so that the TNI can carry out its duties more efficiently.
Overall, strengthening national defense through the steps above will be a key factor in achieving the defense sector indicators in the 2025-2045 RPJPN. With strong and integrated defense, the Republic of Indonesia will be able to face various threats and maintain national sovereignty and security more effectively.
