Social Transformation Towards Advanced Indonesia 2045

Indonesia, as a country that is developing rapidly economically, has set a big ambition to become a developed country by 2045. To achieve this ambitious target, the government has formulated five main targets contained in the National Long Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025- 2045.
These five targets include (1) Per capita income equivalent to developed countries; (2) Poverty reaches 0% and inequality decreases; (3) Leadership and influence in the international world increases; (4) The competitiveness of human resources (human capital) increases; (5) Greenhouse gas emissions decrease towards net zero emissions.
In achieving these targets, reform will not be enough. Indonesia needs broad transformation, especially social transformation.
Indonesia’s development in the next 20 years will be characterized by major changes that require fundamental social transformation. These changes not only occur in structural, institutional, norm and value aspects, but also include changes in people’s behavior.
One of the main changes that will be faced is changes in population structure. With population growth continuing to increase, Indonesia will face challenges in ensuring equitable distribution of resources and optimal utilization of human potential.
Apart from that, technological advances will also be an important factor influencing social transformation. The rapid development of information and communication technology will have a significant impact on the way people interact, work and access information.
Climate change is also a factor that cannot be ignored. The impacts of climate change, such as increasing temperatures, floods and drought, will affect people’s lifestyles and livelihoods, as well as create new challenges in managing natural resources.
Apart from that, geopolitical changes, global economic shifts and cultural progress will also shape a new social landscape for Indonesia. Social transformation is an important key in dealing with these various changes so that society can face and adapt well to the challenges they pose.
In this context, social transformation includes not only structural and institutional changes, but also changes in societal norms, values and behavior. Social transformation basically aims to create Indonesian people who are healthy, intelligent, educated, protected and prosperous.
Through comprehensive social transformation efforts, it is hoped that Indonesia can face various changes better and achieve success in building an inclusive, competitive and sustainable society in the next 20 years.
