Social Transformation Through Quality Education

Quality and equitable education is one of the Social Transformation policy directions in the 2025-2029 RPJMN. To achieve this goal, several main strategies have been identified as follows.
The importance of a long and quality education period is a major prerequisite. Therefore, the 2025-2029 RPJMN emphasizes the importance of accelerating compulsory education to 13 years, consisting of 1 year of pre-school and 12 years of primary and secondary education.
This step aims to provide a solid educational foundation for every Indonesian child from an early age, so that they have equal opportunities to grow and develop.
Not only is primary and secondary education important, but also equitable access to quality higher education. RPJMN 2025-2029 emphasizes the importance of equal access to higher education and scientific development in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
By providing wider opportunities to obtain higher education and strengthening the STEAM field, it is hoped that Indonesia can produce more graduates who are ready to compete in the era of globalization.
The quality of teaching and learning is a key factor in determining the success of a country’s education system. RPJMN 2025-2029 emphasizes the importance of improving the quality of teachers and educational facilitators, as well as developing innovative and effective learning methods.
Carried out through appropriate training, guidance and support, it is hoped that the quality of teaching and learning throughout Indonesia can improve significantly.
Not only is the quality of teaching important, but also the management and administration of the education system. RPJMN 2025-2029 emphasizes the importance of strengthening the management of quality educators and education personnel through the development of supporting policies, systems and infrastructure.
In addition, an effective and efficient education governance system is the foundation for the success of a country’s education system. RPJMN 2025-2029 emphasizes the importance of strengthening the education governance system through increasing transparency, accountability and public participation.
Apart from the 6 things above, preparing individuals for academic life, education must also prepare society for the ever-changing world of work. Therefore, the 2025-2029 RPJMN emphasizes the importance of increasing productivity, competitiveness and employability through education that is relevant to the needs of the job market.
By implementing this Social Transformation Policy Direction, it is hoped that Indonesia can achieve its strategic goals in building a more educated, knowledgeable and competitive society.
