Minister Suharso Emphasizes an Imperative Approach in Achieving Indonesia’s Vision 2045
Minister of National Development Planning Suharso Monoarfa emphasized that an imperative approach needs to be taken to achieve the vision of Indonesia 2045. This was said by the Minister when signing the 2025-2045 RPJPN Joint Circular, Wednesday (10/01/2024).
“Seeing the importance of long-term planning for achieving our shared vision and mission, the planning approach needs to be changed. “We emphasize an approach that is no longer normative, but imperative with a clear vision and measurable targets,” said the Minister.
“Not only is planning effective and measurable, planning also needs to consider regional diversity and characteristics. “Each region has its own characteristics and potential, therefore planning strategies must be adapted to each region,” he added.
According to him, each region has different complexities. Therefore, the Minister appealed to apply a different approach in solving the problem. The Minister said that one size of clothing cannot be worn by everyone.
In preparing the 2025-2045 RPJPD, the Minister said that the RPJPN still provides space for regions to develop it based on the unique vision and characteristics of each region in Indonesia, while still maintaining coherence and development synergy between the central government and regional governments.
Apart from conveying the above, the Minister also emphasized that population policy in each region should be the main focus in preparing long-term planning.
Therefore, the Minister advised regional governments to direct population policies to achieve Indonesia’s Vision 2045.
According to him, this policy needs to be directed at being able to maintain a balanced population growth rate by maintaining the TFR value at around 2 and maintaining the composition between the old and young population, especially in the lower income group.
Apart from that, the Minister also advised us to focus on investing in young human resources so that they can work more productively and have a long working life.
“Long Term Planning is a guideline for all stakeholders and can be a direction for all elements of society,” he said.
“I emphasize that long-term planning (both regional and national) does not only belong to the government, but to the entire Indonesian nation,” concluded the Minister.
