Minister Suharso Emphasises the Importance of Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships in Achieving SDGs

Minister of National Development Planning Suharso Monoarfa emphasised the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships in achieving the SDGs while attending the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships in Bali, Monday (02/09/2024).
According to him, these partnerships will serve to enhance collective action through resource mobilisation, shared responsibility, and increased impact.
“These partnerships should also encourage inclusive cooperation and innovative solutions,” the Minister said.
“Through multi-stakeholder partnerships, the development gap between countries is expected to be narrowed and global progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 can be boosted,” he added.
The minister said that the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships (HLF-MSP) was held in response to the major challenges faced in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“Based on an assessment conducted by the United Nations Secretary-General, only 15% of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets are on track, while many others have regressed. As a result, more than half of the world’s population faces the risk of being left behind and not being included as subjects of development,” he explained.
Minister Suharso hopes that this forum can be a catalyst for transformative change. A melting pot and networking community of experts where ideas can be turned into concrete initiatives and commitments can be translated into tangible results.
