Minister Suharso Attends National Day Celebration of the Kingdom of Spain

Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa attended Spain’s National Day celebrations on Thursday (10/10/2024). On behalf of the people and Government of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister Suharso congratulated the people and Government of the Kingdom of Spain.

In his speech, the Minister emphasised the importance of the bilateral relations that have existed since 1958 between Indonesia and Spain.

The Minister revealed that the two countries have established good and mutually beneficial cooperation and maintained friendship based on mutual respect.

As one of Indonesia’s trading partners in the European Union, the Minister noted the positive trend of investment from Spain in recent years. The Minister hopes that there will be other investors who can join in the future.

The Minister hopes that the partnership between Indonesia and Spain can complement each other and continue to be strengthened. Especially in key sectors such as energy transition, cyber security, and marine resources.

In the context of sports, the Minister also congratulated Spain for the various achievements that have been made this year.

“Congratulations on your outstanding achievements in sports this year, including winning the Wimbledon championship, the European football championship, and the gold medal at the Olympics for men’s football,” he said.

Closing his remarks, the Minister hoped that the spirit of this celebration can continue to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries for mutual benefit.
