Minister Suharso Attends French National Day Reception
Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa and his staff attended the French National Day Reception, Friday (12/07/2024).
In his speech, the Minister emphasized the importance of the diplomatic relations that have been established between the Indonesian Government and the French Government, which have existed for 5 years after Indonesia’s independence.
According to him, cooperative relations between the two countries have been carried out in various fields, such as defense and security, maritime, energy, trade and investment, economic development, sustainable city development, education and people-to-people exchanges.
“This collaboration has proven to be mutually beneficial and has driven sustainable progress, encouraged innovation and enhanced our partnerships at various levels,” said the Minister.
“France is an important development partner for Indonesia. “Our cooperation is closely tied to our joint efforts to realize sustainable development and resilient economic growth,” added the Minister.
On that occasion, the Minister also appreciated France’s commitment to the green transition, one of which is implemented through regenerative agricultural practices. According to him, this approach can be healthier for the soil, because it is carried out using reduced tillage methods and planting cover crops.
“Indonesia can gain significant knowledge from France in sustainable and regenerative agriculture,” explained the Minister.
“Through the exchange of knowledge and good practices, we can together develop a thriving agricultural sector that promotes the welfare of society, the planet and future generations,” he added.
Closing his speech, the Minister invited the French Government to attend the 2024 High Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships in Bali.
“France’s participation will make a significant contribution to collaborative efforts aimed at addressing global challenges,” he concluded.
