Maintaining the Consistency of Central and Regional Planning, Minister Suharso Suggests Local Governments Refer to the RPJPN

The regional government must use the RPJPN as a reference in preparing the provincial RPJP. This aims to maintain the consistency of central and regional planning.
This was conveyed by the Minister of National Development Planning Suharso Monoarfa when opening the National Development Planning Conference, the 2025-2045 National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJP), Monday (22/05/2023).
The Minister also added that the provincial RPJP must be used as a reference in preparing regency or city RPJP.
Furthermore, the Minister also explained the targets to be achieved by Indonesia in 2045. According to him, the economic transformation will be used as a strategy so that Indonesia can get out of the Middle-Income Trap.
“Indonesia’s average economic growth in 2045 is targeted at 7% with a GDP of US$ 9.8 trillion. Indonesia’s GDP is targeted to enter the top 5 of the world’s GDP,” said the Minister in his remarks.
Other developed Indonesia targets explained by the Minister are the GNI per capita value of USS 30,300, the number of the middle class to 80%, the average investment growth is 6.8%, the ICOR value is 4.6, the manufacturing contribution to GDP is 28% and the target manufacturing contribution to the workforce of 25.2%.
On the same occasion, the minister also presented a number of issues. The first issue raised by the Minister was the issue of inequality between regions. According to him, income per capita between provinces in Indonesia is not evenly distributed.
The Minister added, there are 20 provinces in Indonesia that are in the lower-middle income category. Meanwhile, there are only 2 different provinces in the high-income category.
To overcome this, the Minister suggested that the government jointly prioritize economic growth in areas that still have lower-middle income status.
