The development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) is an ambitious project which is expected to become a new milestone in Indonesia’s infrastructure development.
In the process of building this new city, a number of fundamental sectors are the main focus, both in the short and long term, to ensure the continuity and success of this project.
Priority sectors in the short term include new renewable energy, housing, transportation, telecommunications and networks, water treatment, and waste management.
New renewable energy is the key to maintaining environmental sustainability and meeting the energy needs of this new city. Housing is a basic need that must be met to ensure the availability of housing for the population.
Meanwhile, reliable transportation, telecommunications and networks are the foundation for efficient connectivity within this new city. Water treatment and waste management are important to maintain environmental cleanliness and health.
Meanwhile, priority sectors in the long term include technology infrastructure, commercial infrastructure, medical facilities, public and social facilities, educational facilities and green industrial zones.
Advanced technological infrastructure will help create efficient and digitally connected smart cities. Developing commercial infrastructure will support economic growth and investment in the new city.
Modern medical facilities and quality public and social facilities will improve the quality of life of the population. Good educational facilities will form superior human resources. Lastly, green industrial zones will support sustainable and environmentally friendly economic growth.
By prioritizing these sectors in the development of the Indonesian Capital City, Indonesia is affirming its commitment to building a new city that is modern, sustainable and inclusive. Through synergy between these fundamental sectors, it is hoped that the Indonesian capital will become an example for other cities in realizing sustainable and comprehensive development.
