Defense Industry Development and Development as a Factor in Achieving the 2025-2045 RPJPN Indicators

One of the important factors in achieving the defense sector indicators in the 2025-2045 National Long Term Development Plan (RPJPN) is the construction and development of the defense industry. Increasing the strength and independence of national defense through a strong defense industry can be achieved through the following strategies:
First, increasing the capabilities of national strategic industries. Accelerating the increase in the capability of the national strategic industry to meet the needs of the main weapons systems (alutsista) for the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) is a key step.
With strong industrial capabilities, Indonesia can reduce dependence on imported defense equipment and ensure the availability of military equipment that meets national needs. This will increase national resilience and strengthen Indonesia’s position on the global stage.
Second, commitment to national strategic industrial products. Increasing commitment to using national strategic industrial products is an important step to support domestic industrial growth.
The government and defense institutions must prioritize the use of local products and utilize domestic strategic industrial capacity as much as possible. This will not only increase defense independence, but also encourage national economic growth through job creation and technological improvements.
Third, the formation of a defense industrial ecosystem. The formation of a strong and integrated defense industrial ecosystem is a strategic step. This ecosystem includes various components ranging from raw material suppliers, component manufacturers, to defense equipment assemblers.
With a solid ecosystem, the defense industry can operate efficiently and innovatively, ensuring that all defense needs can be met in a sustainable manner.
Fourth, transformation of governance and implementation of the spend to invest scheme. Transforming defense industry governance is an important step to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Implementing a spend to invest scheme, where defense spending is considered a long-term investment, is an approach that can ensure that funds invested in the defense industry provide maximum benefits for national security. In this way, every rupiah spent not only meets current needs but also strengthens the industrial base for the future.
Fifth, collaborative research and development of Alpalhankam. Collaboration in research and development of defense and security equipment (Alpalhankam) is a key step to encourage innovation and technological improvement.
Partnerships between government, industry and academic institutions can produce new breakthroughs in defense technology that increase national capabilities. This innovation not only strengthens national defense but also opens up opportunities for exporting defense products to international markets.
Overall, the development and development of the defense industry through the steps above will be a key factor in achieving the defense sector indicators in the 2025-2045 RPJPN. D
With a strong, independent and innovative defense industry, Indonesia will be able to face various threats and challenges more effectively, maintain national sovereignty and security, and contribute to regional and global peace and stability.
