Accelerating Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals

The whole world is optimizing its efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Based on the special report The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2023, of the 140 targets analyzed globally, only 15 percent of the goals have succeeded in achieving the target or are on the right track.
Meanwhile, more than 50 targets are actually off-track from the expected plans. In the Asia Pacific Region, the situation is increasingly challenging with the estimated achievement of the SDGs set back 32 years. This condition emphasizes the importance of global cooperation and concrete action from all parties to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs by 2030.
At the same time, Indonesia’s SDGs achievements show more encouraging results. As many as 62 percent of the 224 indicators have achieved targets or shown significant progress towards the SDGs National Action Plan targets which are used as monitoring benchmarks.
Meanwhile, the rest shows that conditions will be reached and require special attention. The results of this evaluation are the accumulation of cooperation from all stakeholders in implementing the SDGs achievements.
Indonesia’s success in achieving most of the SDGs targets cannot be separated from close collaboration between the government, private sector, civil society and international institutions. Several key factors that contributed to the progress of this achievement were the mainstreaming of SDGs goals in the 2020-2024 RPJMN and the construction of SDGs centers in universities.
Even though the achievement of the SDGs in Indonesia shows significant progress, there are still challenges that need to be overcome. Several indicators require special attention to ensure targets can be achieved by 2030.
These challenges include issues such as economic inequality, climate change, and access to quality health and education services.
Global and regional conditions show that achieving the SDGs requires greater efforts and closer collaboration.
In Indonesia, although challenges still exist, the results that have been achieved provide hope and inspiration that with hard work and cooperation from all parties, the SDGs targets can be achieved. Let’s continue to work together to create a better and more sustainable world for future generations.
