5 Key Targets Towards an Advanced Indonesia
Indonesia, as a country that is developing rapidly economically, has set a big ambition to become a developed country by 2045. To achieve this ambitious target, the government has formulated five main targets contained in the National Long Term Development Plan (RPJPN) 2025- 2045.
These five targets include (1) Per capita income equivalent to developed countries; (2) Poverty reaches 0% and inequality decreases; (3) Leadership and influence in the international world increases; (4) The competitiveness of human resources (human capital) increases; (5) Greenhouse gas emissions decrease towards net zero emissions.
The establishment of the five targets for the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision cannot be separated from a number of challenges for Indonesia’s human development.
Currently, Indonesia occupies 96th position out of 174 countries, with the Human Capital Index increasing from 0.50 to 0.54 (2010-2020).
Based on current educational attainment and health status, it is estimated that Indonesian children born today, 18 years later, will only reach 54% of their maximum productivity potential.
Therefore, the quality of education, health and survival needs to be improved. As is known, these things are measured by a number of indicators.
These indicators include Expected Years of Schooling, Harmonized Test Score, and Learning-Adjusted Years of Schooling for the education component.
In the health aspect, it is measured by the prevalence of stunting and adult survival rate. In the survival aspect. Furthermore, the death rate for people aged 5 years and under must continue to be reduced in order to improve the survival aspect.
All these efforts are part of the 17 Directions (Goals) for the Development of Golden Indonesia 2045, especially in the Social Transformation section.
