Poverty is a serious problem facing Indonesia today. One way that can be done to overcome poverty is to understand the percentage of poverty data. Data on poverty can be used as a reference in implementing policies.
With existing data, policy makers can identify which provinces require special attention in poverty alleviation programs. The following is poverty percentage data from the 10 provinces with the highest poverty rates in Indonesia in 2023.

Underdeveloped infrastructure, limited access to health and education services, and inequality in the distribution of wealth are factors that need to be addressed.

In 5th place is Gorontalo Province, with a poverty percentage of 15.15%. With a high level of poverty, Gorontalo needs a comprehensive development strategy. Strengthening local economic sectors, increasing access to basic services, and improving the quality of human resources are key in efforts to reduce poverty in this region.
In 6th place is Aceh Province, with a poverty percentage of 14.45%. In 7th place is Bengkulu Province, with a poverty percentage of 14.04%. Potential sectors in this province need to continue to be optimized to overcome the problem of poverty.
